I purchased a used Humminbird ICE 55 fish locator which did not have the soft carry bag. It was nice to find one on Amazon at a discount, plus I have $25 in points on my Amazon.com Visa card, so it is only $22.00. I will feel better about transporting my locator when I have the soft bag to protect it. Last weekend we portaged a woods to go to a remote lake with snowmobiles and the locator had a rough ride in the sled with the equipment. If you have the Ice 45 or the Ice 35, you really should get one of these bags to protect your locator. It's great that it has a zipper opening in the back for charging the battery. Also, there are 2 side pouches for storing the battery charger and other gear. ... Read more

For what you get, this model is very simple to use, simple to get your data out and put in other forms. While not used in a maritime setting, we do cross streams, and wander down by the riverside....so the floating is nice. I installed this antenna, in addition to a new marine head unit in my Dad's pontoon boat last week. Since then he has said radio reception has increased dramatically from the previous internal antenna and head unit setup. One thing that would be nice is a template for how big a hole you need to drill to mount this, and also the maximum thickness of the mounting location. Over all this was a great addition to the boat, and I am sure it will last a long time.

I just received this and love it already! I bought the Garmin Dakota 20, and it came with the nylon case with clear screen, which is slightly more expensive than this case. I didn't like the nylon one at all. With the clear screen attached to the case, it was difficult to see and use the Dakota's touchscreen. I even tried turning the nylon case around so the screen was on the back, and that didn't quite do the trick either. It was just clunky. I ordered this, and I love it. It slipped right on perfectly and even has the power button outline on it. This may seem like a small thing, but I appreciated it being there because there is no doubt where the power button is. I highly recommend this case for anyone with a Garmin Dakota. As a matter of fact, I think it is a necessity. I geocache, so my GPS assuredly gets bumped around. Item is described to have a 6" screen. I recieved mine in excellent packaging, in excellent shipping time, with a 4" screen.Seems to me, if I wanted a 4" screen, I would have ordered a cuda 300 compact. I also wasn't to happy that the sealed package was cut open before it was shipped, but not enough to remove product. The good news is it works excellent, every thing I would have hoped for in a compact. Roger
